During the first eight months (April-November) of the current fiscal year 2018-19, Indian major ports handled 461.22 mt of traffic, as compared to 439.96 mt in the corresponding period of 2017-18, registering an increase of 4.83 per cent. Deendayal port (erstwhile Kandla port) handled the maximum traffic at 77.33 mt, followed by Paradip port (71.3 mt) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) (46.4 mt).
