Foundation stone laid for dry dock at CSL

The foundation stone for the development of a dry dock at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) was laid on October 30, 2018. The new dry dock is being designed to handle both shipbuilding and ship repairs, and will be equipped with features as per international safety standards. It will be 310 metres long and 75 metres wide, with a depth of 13 metres and draught of 9.5 metres. The new dock will enable CSL to build specialised and technologically advanced large vessels such as LNG carriers, drill ships, jackup rigs, large dredgers, aircraft carriers (for the Indian Navy), and high-end research vessels.
