The central government has approved the construction of the 65 km Patna ring road in Bihar. The four/six-lane ring road will pass through Bihta, Naubatpur, Dumri, Daniyawan, Kachchi Dargah, Bidupur, Hajipur, Sonepur and Digha. The estimated cost of the road is Rs 15 billion. The DPR for the project is likely to be finalised within the next few months. In addition, the government has agreed to bear the construction cost for the four-lane, 20 km Danapur-Bihta elevated road. The land acquisition cost for the project will be borne by the state government. Meanwhile, plans to construct a bridge parallel to the Mahatma Gandhi Setu are on the anvil.
