India and Myanmar sign MoU for appointment of a private operator for O&M of Sittwe port, Paletwa terminal and other facilities

An MoU has been signed between India and Myanmar for the appointment of a private port operator for operations and maintenance (O&M) of Sittwe port, the Paletwa inland water terminal and associated facilities. The port infrastructure is included in the Kaladan multimodal transit transport project under India’s Act East Policy.
