Home ministry gives security clearance to Mopa airport

The Ministry of Home Affairs has given security clearance for the construction of the Mopa International Airport in North Goa. The airport will be constructed by the special purpose vehicle (SPV) – GMR Goa International Airport Limited – for which a concession agreement was signed in 2016. In early 2018, Megawide Construction Corporation Limited was selected as the contractor. The airport will be executed in four phases with Phase I estimated to cost Rs 31 billion and expected to be completed by 2020.
