Government planning to launch TCIL IPO during quarter ended March 2019

The Ministry of Finance is planning to launch an IPO to sell up to a 25 per cent stake in Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) during the January-March 2019 quarter. The move is being made as a part of the ministry’s plan to list four central public sector enterprises. According to the government, the work on launching TCIL’s IPO has already begun. To this end, the ministry will soon approach the cabinet for securing approval for a stake dilution in TCIL up to 25 per cent. TCIL was set up in 1978 under the administrative control of the Department of Telecommunications.
