ExxonMobil launches a new synthetic gear and bearing circulating oil for enhanced performance in extreme temperatures

ExxonMobil has launched Mobil SHC™ Elite, a new synthetic gear and bearing circulating oil which is specifically engineered to deliver long-lasting protection for machines operating under extreme temperatures in industries such as general manufacturing, metals, energy, and pulp and paper. Extensive testing has revealed that the Mobil SHC Elite can deliver 12 times the oil life of mineral oils and double the oil life of Mobil SHC 600 synthetic oils in continuous operating temperatures as high as 130 °C, potentially replacing glycol-based lubricants in high temperature systems. This will help in reducing the potential risk of mixing glycol-based products with incompatible mineral oils and synthetic lubricants.

The oil also protects equipment during intermittent temperature spikes of up to 150 °C and provides up to a 3.6 per cent energy efficiency benefit as compared to mineral oils. Following field trials, Mobil SHC Elite has been approved by Siemens for its FLENDER gear units, which depend on robust lubrication protection in rigorous operating conditions.

ExxonMobil is one of the world’s largest suppliers and marketers of fuels, lubricants and specialties, including lubricant base stocks, waxes and asphalt. Its presence in India spans over chemical, downstream and upstream businesses. Its subsidiaries operate out of Bengaluru, Gurugram, Delhi and Mumbai.
