The Sindhudurg airport authorities successfully conducted the trial run for flight operations from the airport on September 12, 2018. With this, the airport is now expected to be operationalised from December 2018. It is being developed at Parule Chipi at an investment of Rs 5.2 billion by IRB Infrastructure Developers on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is the implementing agency for the project.
