Surat APMC sells bio-natural gas to GGL

Surat’s Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) became India’s first cooperative society to commercially sell bio-natural gas produced from fruit and vegetable waste. The produce was sold to Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL) through a gas purchase agreement signed between GGL and APMC. The bio-waste-to-energy and food processing plant of APMC was set up in June 2017 at a cost of Rs 65 million.
