The Expert Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has given its go-ahead to the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for additional development drilling of 72 wells in the KG basin. ONGC had submitted a proposal to the MoEFCC for grant of environmental clearance for developing 72 wells in East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts of Andhra Pradesh. This is to be done at an investment outlay of Rs 7.92 billion.
