Indian ports handled 343.26 mt of traffic during April-September 2018

During the first six months (April-September) of the current fiscal year (2018-19), Indian major ports handled 343.26 million tonnes (mt) of traffic, as compared to 326.54 mt in the corresponding period of 2017-18, registering an increase of 5.12 per cent. Deendayal port (erstwhile Kandla port) handled the maximum traffic at 58.63 mt, followed by Paradip port (52.9 mt) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) (34.81 mt).
