Foundation stone laid for Phase I of Ghaghra IWT

The foundation stone for Phase I of the Ghaghra river inland water transport project (National Waterway-40) was laid on October 9, 2018. Subsequently, construction work for the terminal at Tanda/Kalwari on the Faizabad-Manjhi Ghar stretch of the project has commenced. The project will be implemented in two phases – Phase I from Manjhi Ghat to Dohri Ghat (165 km) and Phase II from Dohri Ghat to Faizabad (180 km). Phase I of the project is scheduled to be completed by 2019-20.
