Divestment process of four Air India subsidiaries to commence soon, bailout package to be finalised by November 2018

The government is expected to soon commence the disinvestment pro-cess of Air India’s four subsidiaries – Airline Allied Services Limited Hotel Corporation of India, Air India Air Transport Service Limited and Air India Engineering Service Limited. Besides, the government is also working on a revival package for the airline which is expected to be finalised by November 2018. The package is aimed at reducing the airline’s accumulated debt of about Rs 500 billion. Both the moves came in the wake of a failed divestment attempt for the airline. Further, there are plans to sell the headquarter building of Air India located in Mumbai as well as various other properties located in different parts of the country to monetise its assets.
