DGCA grants licence to operate flights from Kannur airport

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has granted an aerodrome licence to Kannur International Airport Limited for operating flights from Kannur airport in Kerala. The trial run for flight operations from the airport was conducted successfully, post which the licence has been issued. With this, Kannur airport, worth Rs 22.92 billion, is likely to be inaugurated on December 9, 2018. The airport has two runways, one of which is the Code 4E runway with a length of 3,050 metres. Once operational, the airport is expected to handle 3.5-5 million passengers per annum.
