West Bengal government approves Rs 10.98 billion for construction of bridge over Bhagirathi river

The West Bengal government has approved Rs 10.98 billion for the construction of a bridge over the Bhagirathi river, connecting Kalna in Burdwan with Shantipur in Nadia. The project will be carried out by the Public Works Department of West Bengal. The length of the bridge will be 800 metres, while the entire project stretch spans 11 km. The project scope also includes the construction of a 600 metre rail overbridge at Kalna. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 10.98 billion.
