Pimpri Chinchwad Bus Rapid Transit’s Corridor 1 commences operations

The Nigdi-Dapodi corridor (Corridor 1) of the Pimpri Chinchwad bus rapid transit (BRT) project commenced operations on August 24, 2018. The project involves the improvement of the 45.86 km road network in Pimpri-Chinchwad city by developing BRT system infrastructure at an investment of Rs 10.93 billion. A special purpose vehicle – Pimpri-Chinchwad Infrastructure Company – has been incorporated to implement the project. It involves construction of four corridors under Phase I: Old NH-4 (Mumbai-Pune Highway) (Corridor I), Aundh-Rawet road (Corridor II), Nashik Phata – Wakad (Corridor III) and Kalewadi – Dehu-Alandi road (Corridor IV).
