IR has signed an MoU with Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited for linking railway lines to metro coaches on the broad gauge network and creating a mass rapid transit system in Nagpur. The MoR has also proposed connecting the Nagpur-Mumbai super communication expressway to the railway line connecting Nagpur and Mumbai.
