India is planning to triple its biofuels production by 2022. The government has planned 12 biofuel refineries in the country at an investment of Rs 100 billion. Each refinery is expected to generate employment for 1,000-1,500 people. The sale of agricultural waste for conversion to biofuel will also help increase the farmers’ income.
