An online portal has been launched for enabling booking of common carrier capacity for natural gas transmission through pipelines owned by GAIL (India) Limited. GAIL has been providing third-party access to its pipelines since 2004. According to GAIL, over 100 consumers use its pipelines at any given time. The portal will provide gas consumers the facility to register pipeline capacity bookings online, making the process easy, efficient and transparent.
