Reportedly, an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) sponsored by Brookfield Asset Management, Inc. is in talks to acquire a 1,400 km gas pipeline owned by Pipeline Infrastructure Private Limited (PIPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Holding Private Limited (RHPL). Brookfield has filed an application with SEBI for registering the InvIT. RHPL is restructuring the gas pipeline asset, currently housed under East West Pipeline Limited (EWPL). EWPL has filed an application with the NCLT to transfer this asset to PIPL.
