Passenger traffic at Indian airports has grown at a CAGR of 11.82 per cent during the period 1998-99 to 2017-18. The growth was primarily led by domestic passenger traffic, which grew at a CAGR of 12.95 per cent.
Freight traffic at Indian airports has grown at a CAGR of 8.61 per cent during the period 1998-99 to 2017-18. While the share of domestic freight in total freight traffic increased from 32 per cent in 1998-99 to 36 per cent in 2017-18, the share of international freight traffic in the total traffic decreased from 68 per cent in 1998-99 to 64 per cent in 2017-18.
