Urban population has grown from 288.36 million in the year 2000 to 440 million in 2017, indicating that the urban population is burgeoning at a rate of 2.68 per cent annually.
With increasing urban population, waste generation has also increased in tandem. In the past two decades, waste generation has increased at a CAGR of 9.63 per cent.
