During 1998-2018, the total number of vessels in the country grew at a CAGR of 5.41 per cent. In absolute terms, 905 vessels were added during the period.
In terms of fleet composition, dry cargo dominates the sector. The share of dry cargo liners increased from 29.20 per cent in 1997 to 57.77 per cent in 2017.
