Water supply in urban areas increased significantly from 22,543 mld in 1994-95 to 93,775 mld in 2016-17, recording a CAGR of 6.69 per cent.
Sewage generation in urban areas has also increased constantly. Between 1994-95 and 2016-17, sewage generation in Class I and Class II cities increased at a CAGR of 7.06 per cent and 5.67 per cent respectively.
