MoR signs RoD for rail safety project with JICA

The MoR has signed a record of discussion (RoD) with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for a project on capacity development in rail safety. The RoD marks the formalisation of the agreement reached between the MoR, India, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan, through a memorandum of cooperation signed on February 17, 2017. The RoD details the activities to be undertaken under the programme, with a clear focus on track maintenance and rolling stock upgradation. Northern Railway and Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited will be recipients under the programme, which will be undertaken for a period of two years.
