TRAI proposes amendment of Telecom Tariff Order to remove archaic schedules

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has proposed the 64th Amendment to the Telecommunication Tariff Order [TTO], 1999. Under the draft amendment, TRAI proposes the removal of those schedules from the TTO that are no longer relevant in modern times. These include radio paging services, telex and telegraph services and global mobile personal communication by satellite services. The regulator has asked for comments on the draft amendment by July 26, 2018, and counter-comments by August 6, 2018.
