TRAI penalises operators for not meeting QoS parameters during October-December 2017

TRAI has imposed penalties on operators for failing to meet various quality of service (QoS) benchmarks during October-December 2017. While Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has been fined around Rs 3.1 million, the penalties imposed on Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel stand at around Rs 2.9 million and Rs 2.3 million respectively. Meanwhile, Vodafone has to pay about Rs 900,000. Fines have also been imposed on Aircel and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. Further, TRAI might soon levy penalties on telecom firms for not meeting call drop norms during January-March 2018.
