The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has received over 400 bids for the 86 geographical areas (GAs) that it is offering in the ninth city gas distribution bidding round. The last date for bid submission was July 10, 2018. The technical bids will be opened between July 12 and July 18, 2018. The 86 GAs are spread across 174 districts (156 complete and 18 part districts) in 22 states and union territories. The successful entities will be finalised by October 2018. This is expected to bring in an investment of about Rs 700 billion.
