During the first three months (April-June) of the current fiscal year (2018-19), Indian major ports handled 174.02 mt of traffic, compared to 167.48 mt in the corresponding period of 2017-18, registering an increase of 3.91 per cent. Deendayal port (erstwhile Kandla port) handled the maximum traffic at 29.13 mt, followed by Paradip port (26.64 mt) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (17.37 mt).
