Four Indian cities have announced plans to procure over 4,400 buses. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved plans to deploy 100 AC electric buses in Ghaziabad. The timeline of the tender process is yet to be announced. In addition, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced plans to procure 400 buses fuelled by CNG, 100 buses fuelled by diesel, 32 midi-buses designed for female passengers and 500 electric buses. The PMPML will also deploy an intelligent transit management system and automatic vehicle location system to monitor its fleet. The timeline of the tender process is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the Odisha government has announced plans to procure 300 buses for Bhubaneswar by November 2018. Narmada Travels and Traveltime have been appointed as the operators. Of the total buses, 50 will be standard AC buses, 50 will be normal standard non-AC buses and 100 will be 29-seater middle-standard buses. The details of the remaining 100 buses have not been revealed yet. Further, KSRTC has announced plans to procure 3,000 electric buses in the state by 2030.
