Deadline for mandatory local telecom equipment testing extended to March 31, 2019

The government has extended the deadline for mandatory local telecom equipment testing to March 31, 2019, as requested by the Cellular Operators Association of India. The government will implement the testing plan in phases starting October 1, 2018. It will initially be limited to equipment such as fax machines and modems, and later expand the range of equipment under its ambit.
