Powergrid to set up facility for EV charging at Hyderabad metro stations

Larsen & Toubro Limited Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited has signed an agreement with the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at all the 59 elevated metro stations of the Hyderabad metro. The initiative is being taken to promote EVs for first- and last-mile connectivity at metro stations. Powergrid will deploy Bharat Charger DC-001 at the Miyapur (Corridor 1) and Dr B.R. Amedkar Balanagar (Corridor 3) stations. In addition, a mobile application is planned to be introduced to help EVs locate charging stations and to facilitate online payment.
