The central government laid the foundation stone for the Deoghar International Airport Project, Phase I, on May 25, 2018. The airport will be developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) with the support of the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Jharkhand government. The project entails an investment of Rs 4.25 billion. The scope of work includes the development of a terminal building and construction of a runway, apron, taxi track and parking facilities.
