The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has commenced passenger services on the 25.6 km long Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir section of the Magenta Line (Line 8) under Phase III of the Delhi metro rail project. With this, the Magenta Line has become fully operational. The section covers 16 stations comprising two elevated stations – Sadar Bazar and Shankar Vihar – and 14 underground stations. It has two interchange facilities at Janakpuri West and Hauz Khas stations.
