Trial run conducted for Thogudem WTP under Mission Bhagiratha Water Grid Project

A trial run has been conducted for the 145 million litre per day Thogudem water treatment plant at Palvanchamandal under the Mission Bhagiratha Water Grid Project. So far, nearly 97 per cent of the work on the project has been completed in Kamareddy district except pipeline works in villages. Besides, the intra-village pipeline work is likely to be completed by June 2018. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 428.53 billion. The objective of the project is to provide 100 litres of clean drinking water per person in rural households and 150 litres per person in urban households. It aims to provide water to about 25,000 rural habitations and 67 urban habitations.
