NHSRCL has finalised the design for the Sabarmati station of the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor. The station is estimated to entail an investment of Rs 2.5 billion. As per the design, it will be developed as a hub connecting the HSR corridor with other modes of transport in Ahmedabad. The state-of-the-art complex will have the Dandi March as its theme and will have a three-level parking, one level each for cars, buses and autos, which would be able to accommodate around 1,500 vehicles. It will be solar powered with rooftop solar panels designed in such a way as to resemble a revolving charkha and the terminal will be connected to a 400 metre foot overbridge with platforms.
