PNGRB opens ninth CGD bidding round

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has opened bidding for 86 geographical areas (GAs) under the city gas distribution  ninth licensing round. The PNGRB is offering 86 permits for selling compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas in 174 districts in 22 states and union territories. The GAs cover 24 per cent of the country’s area and 29 per cent of its population. The investment expected in this round is nearly Rs 700 billion with each GA having an approximate investment of Rs 7 billion to Rs 10 billion.
