ONGC reports five-year high production

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has reported gas production of 23.48 billion cubic metres (bcm) in 2017-18, its highest production in the past five years. ONGC is increasing production from its newer gas fields to help the country reduce its import dependence by 10 per cent by 2022. The main increase in production was reported from the western offshore region.
