ADB plans to provide a combined assistance of Rs 5.3 billion for three water projects in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. Two projects – the Tiruppur Fourth Water Supply Scheme Project and the Water Supply Distribution Improvement for Tiruppur Added Areas Project – are being implemented at a cost of Rs 9.94 billion and Rs 2.5 billion respectively. So far, 30 per cent of the work has been completed on the latter project, while the final detailed project report (DPR) has been submitted for the former. The third project, the Tiruppur Underground Drainage System Project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 5.25 billion. Of the total cost, 50 per cent will come from the central government, 20 per cent from the state government and the remaining is expected to be sourced from ADB through a loan.
