The sale of Bharat Stage-VI (BS-VI) grade fuel started in Delhi on April 1, 2018, at 391 filling stations. India is skipping two levels to move directly from BS-IV to BS-VI grade fuel. The new fuel has reduced sulphur content of 10 parts per million (ppm) as compared to 50 ppm in BS-IV fuel.
