MoR sanctions works in Bengaluru to ease traffic congestion

The MoR has sanctioned a quadrupling project, with a provision of two additional rail lines (one on either side of the existing two lines) from Bengaluru Cantonment to Whitefield at an estimated cost of Rs 4.93 billion. This 25 km stretch will include six important stations – Bengaluru Cantonment, Bengaluru East, Baiyyappanahalli, Krishnarajapuram, Hoodi and Whitefield. The project will be taken up immediately and completed within a period of two-three years.
