The Karnataka government has inaugurated the 60 million litre per day (mld) Kengeri sewage treatment plant (STP) under the Cauvery Stage IV, Phase II, Sewerage Works Project. The project is being implemented under the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Project-II which consists of 13 water supply contracts and 16 sewerage contract packages apart from a distribution improvement component for unaccounted-for water, a slum development component and a management improvement component, funded largely by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
