Jammu & Kashmir government sanctions Rs 426.11 billion for road projects

The Jammu & Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 426.11 billion for three road projects in the state. These projects are the Zojila Pass tunnel project, the Srinagar ring road/bypass project and the Jammu stand-alone ring road project. The Zojila Pass tunnel project involves the construction of a 14.31 km two-lane, bidirectional tunnel with a parallel escape tunnel over the Zojila Pass from km 95 to km 118 on the Srinagar-Leh road on National Highway (NH)-1D. The Srinagar ring road/bypass project involves the construction of a 42.1 km bypass from Galander to Sumbel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The Jammu project involves the construction of a 58.2 km four-lane, stand-alone ring road/bypass.
