Government lays foundation stone for Hyderabad Airport Expansion Project

The Telangana government laid the foundation stone for the Hyderabad Airport Expansion Project on March 23, 2018. Following this, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited has commenced the expansion works. Under the project, the existing terminal building will be expanded from 12 million passengers per annum (mppa) capacity to 25 mppa at an investment of Rs 26.29 billion. Besides, the expansion plan involves the construction of a taxiway, parking aprons, and a cargo terminal, as well as other allied facilities. The works are expected to be taken up in a phased manner and are scheduled to be completed by end 2019.
