Bharti Airtel looking to divest stake in DTH arm to raise funds

Bharti Airtel is planning to sell a stake in Bharti Telemedia, its direct-to-home arm, in a bid to raise funds. It has received board approval for the transfer of 19 per cent stake in Bharti Telemedia to Nettle Infrastructure Investments, its wholly owned subsidiary. This will be in addition to a 25 per cent transfer in January 2018, taking the total stake transfer to 44 per cent. Further, a part of the aforesaid 19 per cent stake will be utilised for completing the stake sale of Telemedia to the Warburg Pincus Group.
