The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and REC Transmission Projects Company Limited (RECTPCL) have approved the proposal for the sale and transfer of WR-NR Power Transmission Limited, a subsidiary of REC and RECTPCL, to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid). Powergrid won the transmission project through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. Under the project, it will construct a new 765 kV inter-regional corridor to connect the northern and western regions.
