The New Development Bank (NDB) has signed a $100 million loan agreement with the Rajasthan government for financing the Rajasthan Water Sector Restructuring Project. This is the first tranche of funds being given by NDB under the multi-tranche financing facility ($345 million) for this project. The aim of the project is to rehabilitate waterlogged areas along with the modernisation and optimisation of irrigation management practices in the project area. The project, which will be implemented over six years, will also strengthen drinking water supply and irrigation facilities.
