urkmenistan announced on February 23, 2018, that it has commenced work on the construction of the Afghan section of the $8 billion TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) natural gas pipeline. It will be fed from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan.
