TRAI announces penalty of Rs 500,000 per circle on operators indulging in predatory pricing

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced a penalty of Rs 500,000 per circle on operators indulging in predatory pricing. According to TRAI, predatory pricing will be determined on the basis of average variable cost and whether it is the operator’s intention to reduce competition. However, the issue will be examined on a case-by-case basis.
