NHAI plans to roll out a pilot project for incident management in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh

NHAI is in the process of rolling out a pilot project for incident management in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Under the project, incident management contractors will be appointed at a state/regional office level for providing ambulances, tow-away cranes and highway surveillance vehicles across all highways in the state/region, and a regional command and control centre for monitoring operations will also be set up. The bids for the provision of these services have already been issued. In each of the pilot states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, 100-110 additional ambulances are planned to be provided through the incident management service contractor. The implementation of the project is expected to take six to nine months. On successful implementation in these two states, the programme will be scaled up to the national level.
